Classical music editing lies at the heart of Finesplice's operations. Having graduated from Sony 1100 editing machines, via Sony 3000 to the Sonic Solutions Hard-Disk system and beyond, Finesplice continues to lead the field in the most demanding area of audio post-production.
16-bit was followed by 20- and 24-bit; 96 kHz and beyond. This is being followed by multi-channel work - we are now regularly editing 8-track and 24-track projects. All the successful trends of the past dozen years are mirrored in the Finesplice story.
Finesplice was one of the very first companies to invest in Sonic Solutions Hard-Disk editing, now the world standard. We have helped it grow into a system which allows multi-track editing, machine control of external tape-based systems, intricate control of edits, the making of CDs for production purposes, full PQ encoding, dithering to 16-bit masters, and last, but by no means least, the full range of No-noise software
Unfortunately, Sonic doesn’t seem to be keeping up with the increasing pace in the world of audio workstations. For that reason we are just making our acquaintance with the German-designed Sequoia software, and very impressed we are too. More on this anon.
Each member of the Finesplice production team is musically literate and fully capable of producing edited production masters from annotated music scores.
Over the fifteen years, since the Company's formation, this service has been provided for every major classical recording company, and for a multitude of smaller ones.
